Emergency Preparedness

The HHA Emergency Preparedness Committee (formerly known as the Fire Safety Committee) is committed to helping Hollywoodlanders learn about and prepare for any potential emergency situations facing our community. While we live in a high fire zone, it is also clear earthquakes, terrorism and other treats pose serious risks to our safety. Hurricane Katrina served as a wake-up call to the fact that it is not a matter of whether a disaster will happen or not, but when it will happen. It's our mission that Hollywoodland be prepared. If you have any suggestions or comments for the HHA's Emergency Preparedness Committee- please do not hesitate to contact us.

What the Emergency Preparedness Committee does:

  • Work with the LAFD and other local officials in keeping our vehicles parked safely and heeding the brush clearance laws.
  • Educating our neighbors about Red Flag Day's parking enforcement laws. The Fire Department has identified especially narrow parts of our streets ("pinch points") where parking is not allowed on designated Red Flag Days.  (click here to see pinch point map).
  • Arranging disaster preparedness seminars addressing the concerns of Hollywoodland residents.
  • Publishing articles about safety and preparedness in our newsletter Hollywoodlander and on our website at hollywoodland.org
