Overnight Closure on Northbound U.S. Highway 101 for Cahuenga Pass Pavement Rehabilitation Project in Los Angeles for Paving: Sept. 3

All northbound U.S. 101 lanes will be fully closed at Barham Boulevard from 1 a.m. to 4 a.m.

LOS ANGELES— Caltrans announces an overnight closure on northbound U.S. Highway 101 (U.S. 101) at Barham Boulevard in Los Angeles, Thursday, Sept. 3, for paving work. This work is part of a pavement rehabilitation project on U.S. Highway 101 (U.S. 101) in the Cahuenga Pass.

Northbound U.S. 101 will be fully closed overnight from 1 a.m. to 4 a.m. between the Barham Boulevard off-ramp and Barham Boulevard Overcrossing.

The following closure is subject to change and scheduled as follows:

Thursday morning, Sept. 3: All lanes closed on northbound U.S. 101 between Barham Boulevard off-ramp and Barham Boulevard Overcrossing from 1 a.m. to 4 a.m.

Motorists on northbound U.S. 101 will detour using the Barham Boulevard off-ramp (Exit 11A), continuing north on Cahuenga Boulevard East, north on W.C. Fields Drive to the northbound U.S. 101 on-ramp.

Message signs will be placed along the detour route to direct traffic. Caltrans encourages motorists to allow extra travel time and to drive with caution in the area.

Due to weather or operational reasons, the schedule is subject to change including the times and dates, the number of closures and other details. Caltrans will rehabilitate asphalt along U.S. 101 lanes, ramps, and shoulders, and replace and repair concrete slabs. Work will also involve replacing guardrails, curbs and dikes, a crash cushion, and traffic striping, as well as upgrades to curb ramps at 23 locations to meet ADA standards. Once complete, the $24.3 million project will extend the pavement life, improve ride quality, and enhance pedestrian accessibility safety along U.S. 101 in the Cahuenga Pass in the city of Los Angeles. Construction is expected to complete in summer 2029. The contractor is Chumo Construction Inc.
