Hollywoodland Creative Arts Contest!
Hollywoodland residents of all ages are invited to enter our creative arts contest inspired by two Hollywoodland themes. Participants may submit an entry for either theme or both
Stories may be expressed through photography, painting, graphic design, illustration, 3-D art, writing, audio, music, performance, or a combination of creative forms.
Gnomes, Trolls, Stones and Fairytales
Tell a Hollywoodland story inspired by miniature scenes tucked inside the historic Westshire Drive wall.
Beyond the Wild
Tell the Story of the Buck and His Hollywoodland Headdress
Create an imaginative story inspired by the fanciful buck observed on Mulholland Highway in Hollywoodland and his unusual Hollywoodland headdress
Submission Formats
Entries may be written, visual, audio, illustrated, musical, performed, or a combination of creative forms.
Visual work and illustrated books or pamphlets should not exceed 3' × 3'. Musical and performance entries should be submitted in recorded digital format.
How Entries Will Be Evaluated
Submissions will be evaluated on creativity, design and execution, interpretation of the selected theme, and a meaningful association or context with the Hollywoodland community and historical tract.
For entries inspired by the buck, judges will also consider the use and interpretation of the buck and his fanciful headdress.
