Attempted Getaway at the Village Green

Apparently, copper wire isn’t the only neighborhood item that thieves want to steal. Last Sunday night, September 20, a few very beefy people attempted to make off with the granite sculpture that has stood in the center of the Village Green since its inception.

They didn’t get far. One of the pillars came loose from its base and toppled into the gutter. The sculpture was left on its side beside a bench, with a third piece in the street. The thieves also pulled up the surrounding plants and piled them in the center bed.

The good news is that the sculpture can be repaired with the help of a skilled stone mason. If you have a recommendation, please let the HHA know. hha@Hollywoodland,org

The cat remained untouched.
