Monthly HHA Membership Update

May 2025

Dear HHA Members,

Thank you for being part of our association and putting your trust in its Board of Directors to address the most pressing concerns of our neighborhood and represent our collective voice.

We held our monthly Board Meeting this week, and want to update you on what we are working on, to keep you informed and invite you to share your feedback with us. The 2025 Board of elected Directors is listed here on our website, and you can always reach us via hha@hollywoodland.org.

First of all, we want to invite you all to join us for coffee and donuts on Saturday, May 24th at the Village green from 9 am to noon, for an informal hello on Memorial Day weekend. More information is here. We are planning additional community events for this year, so please also let us know what you are interested in joining.

Here are the headlines on our current priorities

 | Safety| Traffic| Fire

Traffic: we have assembled all information to date from our community to provide city officials with information to help navigate the growing traffic problems we are experiencing. We have met with CD4 to review a way forward and will keep you updated. We have also spoken with The Knolls and Lake Hollywood Estates as well as BCNA and we all align on the need for traffic mitigation efforts.

Safety: We will be offering a safety class on navigating living in LA this summer. We are also working on an emergency plan for our neighborhood with a block captain system that we want to move forward and implement.

FireSafe Council: we are in discussion with the Hollywood Hills FireSafe council to explore a potential partnership, which will help unite us with these communities in hardening our homes as a collective.

LPR Cameras/Security: we are researching LPR (License Plate Reader) cameras and contrasting this technology solution with manned security/patrols, developing a costed proposal to help us evaluate what will serve us best.

Property development in Hollywoodland

Design Review Board: We have re-established a relationship with CD4 in order to help re-establish this board, which is a key part of the Hollywoodland Specific Plan. With several new developments happening in the area, we have prioritized supporting our community in their challenge to new developments that are not compliant with this plan, specifically on Flagmoor/Belden.

Representing our members’ interests

We are active in city meetings and have been advocating for the neighborhood and the positions of the HHA, as well as assessing all of the city communications that go out daily for further advocacy opportunities. The main topics we have on our radar are the potential re-zoning of single-family home areas into multi-occupancy dwelling, as well as the city’s budget deficit and how this will potentially impact us (policing, DOT support for red-flag days, infrastructure maintenance, emergency access).

NEW! Hollywoodland Merchandise

We have launched a store on our website, with Hollywoodland branded gift items and merchandise, with items for all ages. From caps to fleeces, tableware to yard signs, celebrate our community and support the HHA at the same time.
