Town Hall Meeting Hosted by MySafe:LA and the LA Regional Fire Safe Council
What Happened to Zone 0?
The proposed Zone 0 regulations were recently withdrawn from the California Office of Administrative Law, and the September Virtual Town Hall hosted by MySafe:LA and the Los Angeles Regional Fire Safe Council will take a closer look at what happened, why it matters, and what may come next.

In addition to the Zone 0 discussion, the Town Hall will include an update from the California Department of Insurance on insurance issues heading into fall, including wildfire concerns, flood insurance, and the potential for flooding and debris-flow impacts following wildfire and/or El Niño storms.
The program will also examine the September 9 Getty Fire. Following the fire, community members raised questions about warnings, communications, traffic, and evacuation preparedness. MySafe:LA conducted a community snap-survey and will share some of the results, including residents’ reported experiences that afternoon.
MySafe:LA will also announce the initial schedule for its new evacuation workshop series. The workshops are intended to help residents better understand how evacuation works, what can contribute to delays and gridlock, and what steps can be taken before a wildfire threatens a community.
The meeting is free and open to the public, with an opportunity for public questions and comments.
