Monthly HHA Membership Update

August 2025

Dear HHA Members,

Welcome to our monthly update, keeping you informed on how the

HHA is working to deliver on our community's priorities.

For our August update, most of the items we communicated in July remain in progress. We'll share more details on outcomes in upcoming updates.

  • License Plate Reader (LPR) cameras – community security initiative

  • Working with CD4 on traffic management during the summer months and beyond

  • Joining forces with the Hollywood Hills Fire Safe Council

  • City Planning communications on the Flagmoor/Belden proposed development – no updates at this time

  • Social events for Halloween

  • Maintaining the planters on the Village Green and repairs to the historic stairs

Protecting Our Neighborhood

An important issue for neighborhoods like Hollywoodland is being considered this month in Sacramento:

  • SB 79 would allow rezoning of single-family neighborhoods like ours into higher-density housing.

  • On Tuesday, August 19, the Assembly Appropriations Committee will consider revisions to SB 79 as part of Resolution 25-0002-S19, which opposes this bill.

  • The HHA has written in support of this Resolution, advocating for higher-density housing along corridors, not within our neighborhood.

  • A “Yes” vote on the Resolution means the City of Los Angeles officially opposes SB 79 unless amended.

Take Action: Please send a short note in support of

Resolution 25-0002-S19 to Councilmember Nithya Raman by

Tuesday, August 19th.

Thank you to all who joined us on Sunday, August 10, for our informal gathering at the Village Green.

  • Board Directors Linda, Jeff, Justin, Sabine, Laura, and Michael were delighted to meet you.

  • We enjoyed hearing your updates and spending time together socially.

  • We plan to host these gatherings regularly—stay tuned for the next date!

Join the HHA Board of Directors

We are actively seeking future Board Directors:

  • Share your expertise and experience in shaping decisions for Hollywoodland

  • Help strengthen our community by serving on the Board

  • Contact a Board member directly or email us at HHA@Hollywoodland.org

We hope to fill positions this year before the next election cycle in early 2026.

Thank you for your trust in the HHA—and please keep talking

with us. Your feedback, concerns, and ideas all help us

continue building a stronger, safer, and more connected Hollywoodland.

Sincerely,

The HHA Board of Directors
